This production was creating a feature-length documentary exploring Mahler’s 8th Symphony, called Symphony of a Thousand. The doc explores how Gustav Mahler taps into literature, philosophy and culture to create music that is philosophical.
On the set were choreographer Catherine Turocy, Director Jason Starr and DP Roger Grange.
The images of dancers in flowing white gowns, would be composited by an animator in Vienna, who requested not to use a traditional Green Screen because the white costumes would be prone to green spill. So BC Studio was able to provide a 20′ wide black back ground and floor, which created a dramatic and effective look.
